Feeling really very proud of my little shop after collecting a Multi-Winner award from Prestige Awards. The Best Card and Gift Shop, South West, for the 4th year running!

I really could not love all my fab customers more for keeping me going, despite all the ups and downs since COVID hit us all. It’s just been the best 6 years.

Am SO honoured to announce that I have been asked to be part of the judging panel for the Gift Of The Year 2024 awards Still pinching myself as this is such an exciting opportunity.
Really looking forward to seeing all the amazing innovation and imagination put into the entries.
Still time for suppliers to put products up for an award, but November 30th is the current deadline.

The other thing is that my Christmas window is in! Bring it on x

Coronation Colouring Competition

So lovely of Roger Hemming Estate Agents to organise the Coronation Colouring Competition for the children. Many thanks, Roger, for choosing Planet Sal vouchers for prizes.

I collected the shop keys from his office almost 5 years ago now, so a very happy association there!

You can collect entry forms from his office in New Street or from me here at Planet Sal in Black Lion Court.

To celebrate the upcoming King’s Coronation, we’re running a children’s colouring competition Pop into the office at 13b New Street to pick up a sheet.
We have 3 x £30 vouchers for Planet Sal up for grabs. One winner will be chosen from each age group – ‘under 5’ ‘5-8’ and ‘9+’. We’ll also be displaying entries in our window.
Entries must be handed in to Roger Hemming Estate Agents by Friday 5th May 2023. An independent judge will choose the winners. Winners photographs may be used for social media and advertising. No cash alternative. This competition is not associated with Meta.

Opening hours are back to normal

Thanks SO much, Honiton, and surrounding areas, for supporting your indie shops so well at Christmas x I was really busy and it was much appreciated and great fun!
Online sales were my best so far, too. Also very lovely of you all x

I had that horrible flu bug over the holiday break which completely wiped me out. But I now have enough energy to open the shop & rearrange ready for my Sale.

So sorry for any inconvenience and I hope you all have a lovely 2023.

I was hoping to open this Saturday for the day, but have been too ill to go in and sort the shop out for the sale. So I will stay closed till Tuesday 3rd at 10am and then normal hours after that.

Independent retailers are being recognised for their winning ways with two card and gift shops picking up no less than four awards between them over the past few days.

Sally Wilde and her Planet Sal store in Honiton, Devon, have chalked up the Prestige Award for Best Card & Gift Shop South West for the second year running – so she’ll be calling on The Blackboard Guy again to update her street advertising.

Delighted with her latest trophy, former card and gift sales agent turned retailer Sally told PG Buzz: “I’m absolutely thrilled – what an honour for me, especially as there are so many amazing shops in our area. Thanks to everyone for your support and for making me smile every day. I have the best customers!”
